Only 31 individuals were fortunate enough to get their hands on Packer Shoes’ Dominique Wilkins-inspired Pump 20 offering last November, but the glowing feedback to the shoe made it clear that the sneaker world would be hungry for a follow-up. For the Packer x ‘Nique Pump sequel, it’s the Reebok Pump Omni Zone getting decked out in a black away Atlanta Hawks color scheme, complete with some cool personalized touches honoring the Human Highlight Film. Like the first Packer Pump, Dominique’s number 21 is stitched onto the black tumbled leather upper of the left shoe, but for the Omni Zone version, the Slam Dunk title years have been swapped for embroidered NIQUE logos on the heels.
Once again, the inside of the tongues sport ‘Packer Shoes’ and ‘Human Highlight Film’ labels and a deeper look into the shoe will reveal special insoles featuring Dominique Wilkins’ career points total on the left insole and the Nique Top 50 silhouette logo on the right, the latter a nod to Wilkins’ outrage over questionably being left off of the NBA’s Top 50 Greatest Players list back in 1996. Additional touches like a speckled midsole and panels of reflective 3M provide the icing on the cake, and if that wasn’t enough, four sets of laces are included so you can rock them however you see fit.
Like last year’s Nique Pump, this will also be a limited release, but rest easy knowing that quantities will be a little more plentiful this time around. A total of 441 pairs will be released with each pair individually numbered inside the ankle collar. And if you’re wondering why that number – Dominique’s number 21 x 21 years of the Pump = 441 pairs of the Packer Nique Pump Omni Zone. The shoe will be available next Tuesday, December 14th at 12 noon exclusively at Packer Shoes in Teaneck, NJ as well as through their online store. The in-store release will feature a special t-shirt and additional giveaways, so if you’re in the area, stop by to get yours before they disappear like last time. Via Sneaker News
