(AllHipHop News) Rap star 50 Cent has landed major funding for his film company Cheetah Vision, which is a partnership between the rapper and producer Randall Emmett.
50's company has received $200 million dollars for a 10-picture deal, which is backed by healthcare executive Richard Jackson and real estate developers Gary Sakwa and Daniel Ret.
Production on several films, which will be released by Grindstone Entertainment/Lionsgate, has already started. 50 Cent is attached to a new film titled Set Up, which starts shooting last month, in addition to Catch .44, which stars Bruce Willis, Forest Whitaker and Malin Ackerman.
The movie centers around a group of friends who get caught up in a diamond heist, which turns violent. "
The thing about '50 Cent' is that, just like in his music career, he isn't someone who sits around and waits for things to get done. He came to me and said, 'How do we move quicker on projects?' With this new fund, we are able to do that," Randall Emmett told Variety.
The hedge fund will help produce roughly five films a year, with a budget of about $20 million dollars. Via All Hip Hop
